Board Members
Joe Avino
Joe Avino is a graduate of Cornell University and currently resides in New York City, working as a Product Manager for Squarespace. A native Buffalonian, Joe played football and lacrosse with Matt for four years at Nichols School. As an avid supporter of the Buffalo community and devoted fan of the Bills and Sabres, Joe rarely misses a chance to visit the 716. Joe is passionate about One Last Goal's mission and honored by the opportunity to make an impact as a member of the board.
Annesha Bhattacharya
Annesha Bhattacharya is a graduate of Middlebury College, and currently lives in New Hampshire, working on her MBA at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Originally from the Boston area and a lifelong Pats fan, Annesha now cheers on the Bills as well, thanks to her One Last Goal family in Buffalo.
Dave Elkhatib
Dave Elkhatib is a graduate of Middlebury College, and currently lives in New Jersey, working in Manhattan. While at Middlebury, Dave and Matt were teammates on the football team and roommates for a year and a half. Dave believes it is an honor and a privilege working for the foundation and credits Matt's desire, compassion and selflessness as a few key pillars for its inception.
Trotter Oberrender
Trotter Oberrender is a graduate of Middlebury College. Originally from Minnesota, Trotter now lives in Manhattan working at Bank of America. Trotter and Matt became close while spending their four years of college together at Middlebury. Trotter feels that it is a true privilege to be a member of the One Last Goal team and continue Matt’s mission of mental health awareness.
Charlie Stein
Charlie Stein is a graduate of Lake Forest College and currently works for Sevenson Environmental Services traveling to various projects around the Northeast. Charlie attended Nichols School with Matt where they were both captains on the varsity hockey team. Charlie is extremely honored and excited to be a part of the One Last Goal team to continue Matt’s vision and passion for mental health awareness.
Jake Zimmer
Jake Zimmer is a graduate of Bentley University and currently in the process of moving back to his hometown Buffalo, NY from San Francisco. Jake attended Nichols School with Matt where they were teammates on the varsity hockey and lacrosse teams. Jake looks forward to continue to shed light on Matt's goal of raising mental health awareness with students and athletes for years to come.
Our children, Kaitlin, Michael, and Elizabeth, are also a part of the One Last Goal team. We are extremely blessed and thankful for them, along with all who love Matthew. Matt’s dear and loyal friends, Annesha, Dave, and Joe, Trotter, Charlie, and Jake are exceptional board members, and their willingness to do whatever it takes to support us has elevated Matthew Benedict’s One Last Goal beyond what we ever could have imagined. Matthew’s friends have become our friends too, and we will be forever grateful for their never ending support and love, their patience, intelligence, drive, expertise, creativity, and all the time they have dedicated to helping us. We are so fortunate to have such passionate and loving team members.
